A major factor in the successful operation of the Metropolitan Bowls Association Pennant Bowls competitions is the availability & participation of properly-trained & properly prepared umpires & measurers.

The Executive and Match & Program Committees of the MBA encourage umpires & measurers to keep their skills & knowledge up-to-date by re-accrediting themselves as their qualifications reach their “renewal” date.

OFFICIALS NEWS

Bowls Australia has released an updated version of “The Laws of the Sport of Bowls” (version 3.1 April 2019). A significant amendment has been made to the D.R about substitute players. Several BA policies have also been re-written.

The Laws Of the Sport book is available for $9 plus $2.50 postage on the estore on the Bowls Australia website and more information on this and changes can be found at the following link: https://www.bowls.com.au/new-law-book-now-available/. Ask your club to purchase a few!!!

THe MBA Executive Committee has adopted the  Bowls SA Policy on Instantaneous Penalties  for Pennant bowls games.
